Initial Prototype
This is an exploded SketchUp drawing of a S.I.D. (Soil Improvement Device). The drawing was produced by ourselves for a client who was creating a DIY manual for people wanting to create "Rammed Earth" structures in their gardens. The initial device was designed by the client and was based on a soil seive that slid from side-to-side to filter soil that was fed from above and was powered by a simple power tool.
Re-fined Design
A few years later we were approached by the client to illustrate the MK #2 S.I.D. which had been completely re-designed to be more robust/effecient and now featured a revolving metal mesh "trommel" drum and was powered by a more reliable electric motor.
